C & H Dental Laboratory was founded in 2022. The lab has since grown from a startup venture into a purpose-built facility, moving to new premises on Risca Road, Newport in late 2025. Today the lab serves dental practices across Wales and the UK, combining the quality of a dedicated operation with the accessibility and service of an independent laboratory.
Every restoration is manufactured by GDC-registered dental technicians committed to quality and consistency.
Ed has been a dental technician for 20 years. He started his training aged 16 at CBC Dental Lab, completing an apprenticeship at Cardiff Metropolitan University and gaining a degree in Dental Technology. After 18 years at CBC, Ed founded C & H Dental Laboratory in 2022, growing the business into a purpose-built premises on Risca Road. His focus has increasingly moved toward digital dental technologies, with a specialism in implantology alongside all aspects of crown and bridge work.
Matthew has 33 years of experience in dental technology, starting at the age of 16 in Torbay. He qualified at Southampton College with a BTEC National Diploma in Dental Technology in 1995 and has worked in laboratories across the country, including London and the Midlands. He settled in South Wales in 2005, working at CBC Dental Lab alongside Ed for 16 years before joining C & H Dental Laboratory. His specialism is smile design and multi-unit complex all-ceramic cases.
Stephanie qualified as a dental nurse in 2005, progressing to Senior Nurse and decontamination lead. She gained experience supporting an implant team and completed additional training in sedation and phlebotomy. Looking for a new challenge, she joined C & H as an apprentice and is currently in her third year studying Dental Technology at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Her background in both clinical and laboratory dentistry gives her a strong understanding of the full workflow from chair to bench.

Our laboratory is based at 22 Risca Road, Newport, NP20 4JW, easily accessible from the M4 and central Newport. The facility houses our full digital workflow, from scanning and CAD design through to manufacturing and finishing. The lab moved to its current purpose-built premises in late 2025.
Local practices can arrange collection and drop-off. We also accept cases by post and digitally from practices further afield across Wales and the UK.
